Mobility Electronics' Portsmith Division Unveils First Palm-Based Presentation Graphics Solution
High-Performance Solution Allows Mobile Users to Present PowerPoint-based Presentations Using Palm Handhelds
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., May 17, 2002 - Mobility Electronics, Inc. (Nasdaq: MOBE), a leading provider of innovative
portable computing solutions for the mobile computer user, announced that its Portsmith subsidiary plans to introduce the first Palm-based solution that allows
mobile users to present dynamic presentations using Palm(TM) handhelds. For the first time, users can leave their bulky laptops behind; Portsmith's solution --
available by summer -- gives road warriors the only tool they need for fast, easy and reliable presentations.
After creating a slideshow at the office and "HotSync-ing" the show to their Palm handheld, users simply clip Portsmith's solution to the back of any Palm
m500, m505, m515 m130 or m705 and attach the handheld to a video projector or video monitor. In seconds, the presentation is ready for viewing -- no
laptop re-booting, reconfiguring external video ports or re-setting laptop video driver settings required. Users can view slides and notes on their Palm while
presenting, and because the solution offers simultaneous charging, their handheld will remain fully charged even after a lengthy presentation. In addition, the
product is bundled with a travel kit, which safely and compactly carries the Palm handheld, the presentation solution and travel charger.
"This first-of-a-kind product presents an ideal solution for highly mobile users," said Holmes Lundt, President of Portsmith. "Users insist on powerful software
and easy-to-use features when presenting from a laptop; they should demand the same from a PDA-based solution. Our product offers superior software and
features that will satisfy even the most discriminating user. It's truly the power tool for PowerPoint on Palm handhelds."
For more information on the product, please visit www.portsmith.com or contact Ryan Adamson at Portsmith at (208) 395-1300 ext 233.
