Motorola Launches Classic Atari Games on Mobile Phones


Motorola and iFone Partnership Set to Revolutionize Mobile Entertainment With Launch of Atari(R) Titles

LONDON, May 17, 2002 - Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) and iFone announce the signing of a global distribution deal to bring a number of all time favorite console games including Pong(R), Centipede(R), Breakout(R) and Asteroids(R) to mobile users the world over. The deal includes access to iFone's Atari(R) classics games catalogue via its agreement with Infogrames.

Juan Montes, VP of Technology and Content Solutions for Motorola's Personal Communications Sector, EMEA commented, "Atari(R) games are known and loved by players of all ages. Our distribution deal with iFone is another example of Motorola's strategy to deliver compelling content with proven brands that have enduring appeal."

Juan Montes added, "As the industry produces more java(TM) enabled handsets, we are creating a compelling Atari(R) gaming experience wirelessly, particularly as these games are well suited for java(TM) devices. We believe iFone is the best partner to work with in delivering these quality, branded java(TM) games. They have the game development expertise so that our wireless customers can have the opportunity to feel an unprecedented excitement when playing."

As content provider for Motorola, iFone's java(TM) games will be available via all of Motorola's network operators, wireless portals and retail partners. In addition, a selection of Motorola handsets will also have the games embedded on them so that customers worldwide will be able to enjoy the entire iFone catalogue of titles.
