ROCOCO RELEASES BLUETOOTH SIMULATOR WITH J2ME SUPPORT

DUBLIN, IRELAND - MAY 21, 2002 - Rococo Software is pleased to announce today's release of Impronto Simulator 1.1, a Bluetooth application development tool that runs Java applications in a simulated Bluetooth environment. Impronto Simulator 1.1 supports J2ME and J2SE, allowing more developers to test and configure applications without investing in costly hardware before deploying applications on Bluetooth devices.

Impronto Simulator 1.1 now includes J2ME support, security control through the Bluetooth Control Center and an industry-leading Java Virtual Machine (Websphere Micro Environment from IBM (NYSE: IBM)). Rococo CTO, Karl McCabe, says, "Impronto Simulator 1.1 provides developers with a complete development environment for building Java Bluetooth applications on all devices, large or small."

"Impronto Simulator is a completely self-contained Bluetooth environment, so you can create virtual piconets within your workstation as if you were working with actual Bluetooth devices," said Bruce Hopkins, Java Consultant. "Impronto Simulator is perfect for the initial stages of the development cycle, where users can develop their Java Bluetooth apps within the simulator's environment."

Impronto Simulator is 100% Java and supports standard Java APIs for Bluetooth Wireless Technology (JABWT). As a member of the JSR-82 Expert Group, Rococo played a key role in defining standard Java APIs that enable the development of applications in Java conforming to the Bluetooth Specification 1.1.
