TORONTO, ONTARIO, May 21, 2002 -- Mobistar to Offer DispatchForce, (an Enterprise Workforce Management
Solution), mdispatch and AIRIX (Wireless Enabling Platform) to Corporate Customers.
Nextair Inc. (TSE: NXA) today announced the signing of an agreement with Mobistar (EURONEXT BRUSSELS: MOBB), a member of the Orange Group,
one of the world's leading communications companies with 39.3 million controlled customers in 20 countries. The agreement will see Mobistar co-sell Nextair's AIRIX enabled mdispatch wireless field force solution and offer DispatchForce to corporate clients through relationships with Systems Integrators. This
Agreement continues the building of Nextair's sales network within the growing European wireless data market.
Wireless Operators, have identified service management and mobile dispatch vertical markets as the markets, beyond wireless e-mail, with the largest
potential for rapid business acceptance. This announcement positions Nextair as a leading provider of wireless applications.
Mobistar will equip its Enterprise pre-sales team with Compaq iPAQs configured with Nextair's AIRIX Smart Client software and Nextair's mdispatch field
service client application. In addition, Mobistar will collaborate with major Systems Integrators such as Unisys and DatAction to sell DispatchForce to major
corporate clients.
"The key to our planned growth in Europe is having wireless carriers bring Nextair's products to market through their established channels. With this latest
partnership, Nextair continues to advance its presence within the European wireless market and it demonstrates a leadership position with respect to winning
the go-to-market application selection process with wireless operators. We expect this trend to continue," said Simon Fraser, Nextair's President and CEO.
Nextair's European Director, Alexis Vergez, adds, "Mobistar is a major player in Belgium and is a leading wireless data provider within the Orange SA group
of companies across Europe. We are pleased to see Mobistar formalize a relationship that will come together with joint marketing and sales activities."
Says Pol Vanbiervliet, head of business unit professional & corporate solutions Mobistar : "This Agreement with Nextair signals the intention of Mobistar to
provide business customers with significant and proven field service vertical applications and extend corporate applications onto mobile devices with AIRIX.
We believe that sales of DispatchForce will increase wireless data revenues while providing customers with business applications they can use to improve
customer service and to become more efficient. We are committing our sales force to this endeavor and partnering with major systems integrators to reach
larger corporate markets with Nextair's DispatchForce application."
"We are impressed with Nextair's AIRIX technology that allows for client-centric computing on mobile devices utilizing Mobistar's GPRS wireless networks.
This technology, along with Nextair's vertical service management and dispatch applications, provides Mobistar an opportunity to move deeper into the
deployment of the mobile workforce, opening tremendous opportunities in both small and medium enterprises and larger corporations," he added.
Wireless Carriers are eager to recoup money invested in building wireless networks, especially GPRS networks. They also recognize wireless data growth
beyond short messaging and email will take place primarily in the corporate market. The mobile Internet access market will cater to 136 million people by the
end of 2007, thanks to the increased mobility of the workforce and the introduction of mobile-specific applications, according to Frost & Sullivan. Field service
personnel have been identified as the early adopters of wireless applications.
Nextair's award-winning AIRIX wireless application development product provides for the rapid development of sophisticated wireless solutions on mobile,
allowing client-side device operation of corporate solutions in real-time with off-line capability on a multitude of networks and handheld devices. DispatchForce
has the workforce management, scheduling and wireless capabilities that large organizations need in order to implement a cost-effective system for
management of their operations. DispatchForce also allows these companies to keep in place their current business processes by integrating with their existing
