5-Year Contract to Provide Nation's Largest Wireless Carrier with Phase I and Phase II Services
BOULDER, Colo., May 22, 2002 - Intrado Inc. (Nasdaq: TRDO), the nation's leading provider of solutions that manage and deliver
mission-critical information for telecommunications providers, today announced its selection by Verizon Wireless, the leading domestic wireless carrier, regarding
provisioning of Phase I and Phase II services for Enhanced 9-1-1 (E9-1-1) deployments. The agreement strengthens the existing relationship between Verizon
Wireless and Intrado.
Over the next five years, Intrado will work with Verizon Wireless to help implement E9-1-1 in significant portions of Verizon Wireless' national footprint. Verizon
Wireless will use Intrado's Phase I and Phase II services to provide Public Safety agencies with location and identification information for wireless calls requesting
emergency assistance. Throughout approximately half of the Verizon Wireless network, Intrado will collect, prepare and update the critical database information
required to support Verizon Wireless' E9-1-1 services and will coordinate 9-1-1 service implementation and operations with the many Public Safety Answering
Points (PSAPs), local exchange carriers and 9-1-1 network providers.
"Verizon Wireless is working diligently to implement E9-1-1 for Public Safety. Intrado is pleased to support Verizon Wireless in this substantial challenge over the
next five years," said Dan Hoskins, vice president and general manager of Intrado's Wireless Business Unit. "We look forward to continuing our relationship with
Verizon Wireless to integrate location technology, meet industry requirements, satisfy deployment schedules and improve the safety of wireless subscribers."
Intrado's advanced wireless industry offerings support emergency response and location-based services and provide the necessary infrastructure support to help
meet all requirements for wireless E9-1-1 services. These offerings include end-to-end services to facilitate interconnection from the wireless carrier system to the
existing 9-1-1 network; assessment services to determine the most efficient plan for deployment; comprehensive 9-1-1 system testing; the industry's most
comprehensive and accurate PSAP database to reliably deliver calls and caller information; and around-the-clock support from Intrado.

Safe Harbor Statement Under the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995
This announcement contains forward-looking statements regarding Intrado's agreement to manage and support deployment of wireless E9-1-1 services for Verizon
Wireless. Readers are cautioned that actual results may differ materially from the forward-looking statements in this release as a result of certain factors, including:
unforeseen delays in the implementation of wireless E9-1-1 services, the amount and timing of expenditures necessary to expand Intrado's infrastructure and meet
Verizon's demands, and Intrado's ability to predict accurately the fixed and variable costs related to wireless E9-1-1 services offered to Verizon Wireless, and other
factors identified from time to time in filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC").
Moreover, Intrado's future financial results may vary significantly from Intrado's expectations based on a number of factors, including: (1) Intrado's reliance on large
contracts from a limited number of significant customers and their ability to pay for Intrado's services, (2) whether Intrado's investments in research and development
will expand service offerings and prove to be economically viable, (3) the rate of adoption of E9-1-1 technology by telecommunications carriers and other potential
customers, (4) continuing technological and regulatory changes in the telecommunications industry that may affect both Intrado and its customers, (5) service and
price competition from entities with substantially greater resources than us, (6) technical difficulties and network downtime, including that caused by sabotage or
unauthorized access to Intrado's systems, and (7) fluctuations in quarterly operating results that are due to factors beyond Intrado's control, including adverse trends
in the telecommunications industry as a whole, and (8) additional factors described in Intrado's Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2001, and in other
SEC filings.
