First four months of 2002 showed strong growth for Digia

[Press release, Helsinki, May, 23rd, 2002] - - Digia, a software supplier of Personal Communications Technologies and Solutions for Symbian? OS phones, reported strong growth during the first four months of 2002 generating revenues of 4.0 million euros, this represents +157.1% increase from the first four months of 2001. The company's cash flow was positive. This favorable progress is due to Digia's focus solely on Symbian OS phone development projects, and increasing demand for its products and services in global markets.

"Digia has gained a strong reputation as a professional and reliable partner in the mobile phone manufacturer and semiconductor customer segments. The Symbian community is growing quickly, and Digia as one of the largest Symbian competence pools is taking a commitment to push it forward. Digia is gaining growth by supporting the standards of open mobile architectures when consumers are offered an extensive selection of competitive and compatible terminals and services", says Mr. Jari Mielonen, CEO Digia Inc. "Digia has shown its capability and competence in developing important and comprehensive solutions for Symbian OS phones, and in shortening considerably the time-to-market of new devices", Mielonen continues.

"Digia has gained important partnerships such as the first Nokia Series 60 Platform Competence Center and a Texas Instruments OMAP? Competence Center. These are significant steps into our future as the leading Symbian software company. Mobile phone manufacturers have a very open attitude toward us, and we typically discover common perspectives quickly with them", says Mr. Jari Kiuru, VP Product Development, Digia. "We have taken important steps in product development by announcing technology components and software for Symbian OS application testing, personal navigation and communication for device manufacturers. We are serving the Symbian developer community by authoring the first book on Series 60 Platform and Symbian OS programming. We recently also launched the Digia?SDK for Symbian application development for use with Intelīs new XScale hardware architecture", Mr. Kiuru continues.
