Markham, ON - May 28, 2002, - Canada's leading mapping data and geocoding solutions provider, DMTI Spatial(tm), is pleased to announce that it's CanMap� Streetfiles and Points of Interest (POI) data sets have been selected by Thales Navigation, one of the world's leading GPS providers, as the preferred source for their Magellan� MapSend Streets and Destinations Canada(tm) CD products.

Canadian tourists, motorists and outdoor enthusiasts can now purchase comprehensive Canadian street map and point of interest data on CD-ROM to maximize the potential of their GPS handheld technology. The Canadian MapSend Streets CD provides the user with the capability to download highly detailed street maps into Magellan's consumer GPS handheld products.

This partnership provides Thales Navigation with Canada's leading street map and POI data for comprehensive mapping solutions designed to help users plot their current position, create waypoints and routes, carry out street address based searches with download capability for viewing maps on their GPS device.

CanMap Streetfiles are built to rigorous cartographic standards with addressed street segment coverage for 87% of the population and named street segment coverage for 99% of the population. CanMap also provides detailed topographic and geographic features for 157 major Canadian Urban Areas.
