HOLMDEL, N.J., May 30, 2002 - uReach Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of innovative enhanced communications
solutions to service providers, today announced that they have joined the International Softswitch Consortium to advance next-generation multimedia
communications.
uReach Technologies brings to the Consortium its breadth of experience in developing and delivering enhanced communications services -- including enhanced
voice mail, unified messaging, unified communications, and voice- activated dialing -- for service providers to offer to their customers. These services are provided
by uReach's next-generation application server that controls other network elements, such as media servers, via SIP and voiceXML.To further the development of
open network architectures and standard interfaces for next-generation IP-based multimedia communications and applications, the International Softswitch
Consortium organizes interoperability test events, holds educational conferences, and establishes work groups to address current and emerging industry issues.
According to the Consortium, softswitch technology plays a strategic role in the next- generation public network infrastructure for data, video and voice
communications. It couples the reliability and features that customers expect from public telephony networks with the cost-effectiveness and flexibility of packet
technology.
"To empower consumers to control and personalize their communications and to better manage the ever-increasing barrage of messages, uReach services provide
a wide range of functionality -- from voice mail access over the Web or email access over the phone, to intelligent call filtering and routing, to listening to voice
mail messages as they're being recorded," said Krishnamurty Kambhampati, president and CEO of uReach Technologies. "By joining the International Softswitch
Consortium we will help shape and promote the growth of next-generation multimedia communications."
uReach will be in the International Softswitch Consortium booth at next week's Supercomm show in Atlanta (Booth 24476).

About The International Softswitch Consortium
The International Softswitch Consortium is the premiere public advocate for the worldwide advancement of softswitch network interoperability, promoting the
growth of Internet-based multimedia communications and applications. The ISC, which has more than 130 members, was launched in May 1999 to support rapid
advancement of application development for the evolving Internet protocol networks. Internet protocol networks are built on distributed servers generally called
call agents, media gateway controllers, softswitches, application servers and media gateways. To further the development of open network architectures and
standard interfaces, the ISC organizes interoperability test events, holds educational conferences, and establishes work groups to address current and emerging
issues vital to the industry. More information can be found on the ISC's website at www.softswitch.org.
