Pointserve CUSTOMER WINS 2002 Fast Track award

URL(s): www.PointServe.com

AUSTIN, TEXAS - May 30, 2002 - PointServe, a leading provider of service supply chain optimization solutions, announces that a key customer has won the 2002 FFAst Track Award, as selected by the editorial staff of Field Force Automation (FFA) magazine. Beating out hundreds of similar deployments through a case-study submission process, PointServe's 45-day deployment for Missouri Gas Energy (MGE) receives the honor for its rapid, successful deployment of enterprise software within a mid-size field force. FFA magazine announces winners in each category in the May print edition of the publication and at an award ceremony during the fall FFAst Track Forum in Miami.

PointServe's Workforce Management solution for MGE was honored by FFA magazine for its ability to deliver real value in a remarkably short timeframe. Workforce Management is a component of PointServe's Enterprise Service Optimization (ESO) suite, a range of service supply chain application modules and optimization services that rapidly drives significant operational efficiency gains and dramatically improves customer service.

"FFAst Track Award winners are proven to excel in technology and business value," said Matt Purdue, editor-in-chief of Field Force Automation. "Receiving a FFAst Track Award is a respected endorsement, recognizing top implementations focused on improving customer service." MGE, a division of Southern Union Company (NYSE:SUG), was the only utility company to be honored by the respected magazine.

"Field Force Automation's FFAst Track Award validates the quantifiable value we deliver quickly to customers through our products and services," said G. Edward Powell, CEO of PointServe. "It also shows MGE's commitment to delivering the highest quality service to its customers."

Excellent customer service is a tradition at MGE, which provides energy to 498,000 customers in central and western Missouri, serving the region for 130 years. MGE is one of several divisions of the Southern Union Company to implement PointServe solutions. By centralizing dispatch operations, automating technician scheduling and routing, and empowering field technicians with real-time data, MGE is already realizing significant efficiency gains and improvements in emergency response.
