Leading Phone Number Management Tool will Allow Panasonic Mobile Phone Users To Transfer, Edit, and Add Numbers To/From Their PC

Aliso Viejo, CA June 13, 2002 The Wireless & Broadband Division of Smith Micro Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: SMSI), a developer and marketer of a wide range of software solutions for the wireless market, announced today that Panasonic Wireless has completed testing of Smith Micro’s QuickLink Mobile PhoneBook. It will now become the leading aftermarket accessory for use on Panasonic’s Allure™, Versio™, DuraMax, and ProMax mobile phones. With QuickLink Mobile PhoneBook, Panasonic mobile phone users will be able to download their phone lists to a PC, edit and add numbers, import entries from Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express, and much more.

QuickLink Mobile PhoneBook is a leading tool for updating, transferring, and storing phone lists. The product will be available on Smith Micro’s site to Panasonic customers for purchase in two different forms: as a kit (including software and phone-to-PC connector cable) for $39.95 (MSRP), and as a software-only option at $25.95 (MSRP) for those who already own a connector cable.

“QuickLink Mobile PhoneBook has proven itself to be among the most intuitive and easy-to-use phone number management products on the market,” said Tom Bryant Director of Business & Product Planning at Panasonic Digital Communications and Security Company. “Its drag-and-drop number sorting and easy download of Microsoft Outlook entries makes it a convenient way for mobile phone users to keep their phone lists current while on the road. We look forward to directing our customers to QuickLink Mobile Phone Book, as we firmly believe that it’s a worthwhile productivity tool.

“In the Allure, Versio, DuraMax, and ProMax, Panasonic offers four of the most sophisticated digital multi-network wireless phones on the available today,” said W.Rick Wyand, General Manager of the Wireless & Broadband Division of Smith Micro Software, Inc. “Adding QuickLink Mobile PhoneBook to Panasonic’s list of suggested accessories opens our product to a new and valued customer base.

QuickLink Mobile PhoneBook enables mobile phone users to transfer their personal phonebook to their PC, providing essential phone list backup as well as other maintenance conveniences. Once downloaded, for example, the user can easily edit, delete, and add new entries to the phonebook using their PC keyboard, then upload the revised list to their mobile phone.

Smith Micro’s phone number management tool offers drag-and-drop number sorting to make phone number management and organization more efficient. To make transfer of number lists easier, users are able to import entries to their mobile phone from Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, or any other .csv format text file and upload them to their mobile phones. The application also allows mobile phone users to save their phone lists to their PC for backup or distribution purposes.

Cutting-Edge Digital Wireless Technology

Panasonic’s Allure, Versio, DuraMax, and ProMax wireless phones, sold through AT&T Wireless and its affiliates, plus several other TDMA networks, are cutting-edge digital handsets that have set new standards for light weight and compact designs, offering advanced features throughout the range. All the models offer high-tech features including built-in speakerphone, two-way text messaging, built-in vibration alert and Tegic T9™ predictive text input.
