GERMAN UNIVERSITY RESEARCH GROUP ADOPTS ROCOCO'S BLUEVARSITY PROGRAM

AMSTERDAM, Holland - June 14, 2002 - Rococo Software is pleased to announce that a research group at Technical University Berlin (Technische Universitat Berlin) has implemented Rococo Software's BlueVarsity University Education Program as part of its Computer Science offering. BlueVarsity is a full-service Bluetooth education package that provides training, development tools, a support network and an awards program to universities building Bluetooth education programs.

"My students and I work with Java and J2ME and are about implement an information system that transfers information in mobile spontaneous networks based on Bluetooth," said Thomas Schwotzer of the Intelligent Networks and Management of Distributed Systems research group at TU Berlin. "BlueVarsity is an ideal match for us because we're working on Palm with Palm OS. Rococo's simulator and developer kit are some of the few tools on the market that currently support JABWT on Palm."

Rococo CEO, Sean O'Sullivan, believes TU Berlin's SHARK (Shared Knowledge) information system (http://ivs.tu-berlin.de/Projekte/Shark/) will benefit from Rococo's BlueVarsity offering. "Setting-up a Bluetooth program is a daunting and expensive prospect for universities," said Rococo Software CEO, Sean O'Sullivan. "The BlueVarsity Package makes it easier and less costly to teach students how to develop Bluetooth technology by packaging Rococo's tried and tested Bluetooth application tools with relevant Bluetooth training courses."

BlueVarsity Bluetooth Education Package includes:

- Bluetooth Training

- Bluetooth Demo Pack

- Impronto Simulator (runs Java apps in a simulated Bluetooth environment)

- Impronto Developer Kit (Bluetooth application development tool)

- BlueVarsity Network

- BlueVarsity Award Program

Dublin-based Rococo Software has also licensed BlueVarsity programs to Trinity College, Dublin and Dublin City University. Declan O'Sullivan of Trinity College's Knowledge & Data Engineering Research Group says, "BlueVarsity allows students and research staff to develop Java applications against a Bluetooth environment without investing in hardware, and in a way that enables us to focus on applications rather than the infrastructure."

Rococo's BlueVarsity Package is discounted for qualified institutions and is not available to commercial companies. For more information about Rococo's BlueVarsity Bluetooth Education Package, visit http://www.rococosoft.com/universities/index.html or email bluevarsity@rococosoft.com.

Rococo also chairs the Irish Bluetooth Users Forum (www.ibuf.org).

Rococo Products Rococo's Impronto Simulator runs Java applications in a simulated Bluetooth environment allowing developers to test and configure applications before deploying them on Bluetooth devices. Rococo's Impronto Developer Kit makes creating wireless applications easy by hiding complex Bluetooth protocols behind standard Java APIs. The Bluetooth Technology Licensing Kit (TLK) is a comprehensive set of development tools and technologies that add Java/Bluetooth capabilities to existing platforms.
