Desktop Users Empowered By New SMS Product Release

Designed to be an easy to use bulk SMS messaging tool, Clickatell’s latest software release, Messenger-PRO, is set to increase the company’s market share significantly.
Most of Clickatell’s existing products focus on servicing SME’s (Small and Medium Enterprises) as well as corporate clients, allowing these businesses to send bulk SMS messages to multiple recipients, and enabling automated server-based messaging and alerts. Clickatell also sells SMS in bulk to many international SMS providers who resell these messages through their own front-end applications.
Clickatell Messenger-PRO, however, is designed to enable sms messaging with the same ease of use as sending an e-mail. Users are able to create recipient groups in an address book, view their message history, upload databases into the address book, and send individualised (mail-merged) messages to mobile phones at the click of a button. Initial feedback from the consumer market has been extremely positive, as the product clearly fills the void in the PC to mobile messaging market.
Messenger-PRO is already being used by corporate clients for marketing messages, staff updates and general SMS requirements, but Clickatell’s Managing Director, Pieter de Villiers, believes that the largest uptake will be from the consumer market. “SMS applications have always been either out of reach for the consumer on a technical level, or severely limited in reach, functionality and coverage. We have gone to great lengths to ensure that the product eradicates these concerns and that it is easy to use,” says De Villiers.
Clickatell has a clear strategic advantage over potential competitors, according to De Villiers, as the company’s international delivery capability is continually strengthening. “All Clickatell’s products are serviced by our propriety gateway technology, which ensures that the client is allowed access to carrier-grade services,” says De Villiers.
Key to Clickatell’s success so far is that all products and software can be downloaded and used immediately. Consumers only pay for their SMS messages, and then at extremely competitive prices.
