GEOANALYTICS® SELECTED BY CITY OF CHICAGO TO DEVELOP WEB GIS-ENABLED FLEET TRACKING SOFTWARE APP

URL(s): www.geoanalytics.com

MADISON, WI - July 18, 2002 - GeoAnalytics®, Inc., a leading provider of geographic and land information systems (GIS/LIS) technology and management consulting, has been hired by the City of Chicago to design and develop a Web-GIS front-end to the City's Multi-Agency Government Integrated Communication (MAGIC) automated vehicle location (AVL) system. This initiative, utilizing ESRI®'s ArcIMS technology, will provide the City departments of fleet management, transportation, and streets and sanitation with the ability to spatially view and report on the current and historic positions of City vehicles, specific vehicle operating parameters, and communicate with vehicle drivers in the field. This web-GIS solution is being built on top of AVL technology produced by Products Research, Incorporated (PRI) located in Addison, Illinois. It will also leverage other City enterprise information systems including Oracle and SQL Server databases, ESRI's ArcSDE, and Business Objects reporting software.

The final MAGIC Web-GIS AVL solution will enhance fleet operational management as well as support City Homeland Security needs. For example, City fleet managers will receive real-time security alerts on vehicles that deviate from normal routes and operating procedures. This will allow them to render any vehicle immobile if foul play is suspected. The MAGIC system also includes a card swipe feature that will allow only authorized drivers to operate City vehicles.

"This second phase of implementing the MAGIC system is a very significant, high profile project for the City and we feel GeoAnalytics provides the proper mix of solid strategy and GIS/IT technical and project management skills to get the job done," said Rudy Urian, City of Chicago Fleet Management Project Manager.

"This project leverages GeoAnalytics' many strengths, including application design and development, disparate systems integration, and location based systems. It affords us the opportunity to help the City become even more productive and secure," said Peter Thum, President and Chief Technology Officer of GeoAnalytics.
