go2 Teams With Microsoft to Provide Location-Based Directory Information for MSN Mobile Services

IRVINE, Calif. Jan. 21, 2002--go2(R) Systems Inc. today announced that it is now powering the location-based directory application of MSN(R) Mobile. This agreement enables the more than 5 million MSN Mobile users access to comprehensive, accurate and easy-to-navigate location-based information in the go2 Local Business Registry(TM).

Users will now have the ability to access the go2 Local Business Registry through the MSN Mobile directory and obtain detailed and timely information about businesses, including merchant specified product and service categories, products and brands carried or serviced, daily store hours, customized "last 100 feet" turn-by-turn directions, parking suggestions, daily specials, coupons and discounts.

"We are committed to delivering the best mobile experience to consumers, through offering great services and information," said Bryan Mistele, general manager, Mobile Consumer Services, Microsoft. "Working with go2 is a natural extension of this commitment because go2's Local Business Registry and applications enable us to deliver comprehensive and accurate local information to MSN Mobile users."

The unique go2 Local Business Registry provides merchants with a single point of entry to inexpensively distribute extremely comprehensive, accurate and timely location-based information to virtually any Web-enabled device or service. Users are assured that they are accessing the most accurate information because it is supplied and updated by the registered businesses. Making the Registry information available to MSN Mobile users provides additional value to merchants by expanding their exposure to potential customers.

go2 launched the world's first wireless location-based directory in 1999 and is now the most widely used mobile location-based directory and information service in the United States, with more than 1 million wireless users generating more than 25 million page views per month.

According to an analysis by The Strategis Group, the worldwide number of people using location-based services is expected to increase from 70 million in 2002 to more than 220 million in 2005.

Describing the MSN agreement, go2 CEO and Founder Lee Hancock said: "Our goal has been to provide easy access to the Local Business Registry information to all users of Web-enabled applications and services, so teaming up with MSN Mobile is a terrific addition to our distribution. Now MSN Mobile users can access the detailed information of some of the best known, multi-location retail brands such as Burger King, Carl's Jr., Howard Johnson, Jiffy Lube, Ramada and others."
