Extended Systems Teams with TEMIC to Add Bluetooth to Speech Recognition Software for Automotive Applications

BOISE, Idaho & ULM, Germany, Jul 29, 2002 - Extended Systems (Nasdaq:XTND), a leading provider of mobile data management and wireless connectivity solutions, and TEMIC SDS GmbH, a global supplier of speech processing technology and products, announced today that TEMIC will license Extended Systems' Bluetooth software development kit, XTNDAccess Blue SDK, in order to add Bluetooth capabilities to TEMIC's speech recognition software designed for automotive applications.

The combined product is expected to be released in December 2002 and will be targeted at all major European car manufacturers and their suppliers.
