Electric Pocket Releases Ringo 3.0 for Handspring Treo

-- Ringo ringtone manager now enables Treo users to set pictures for identifying incoming callers

WYE VALLEY, U.K., Jul 31, 2002 - Electric Pocket today announces the release of Ringo 3.0, an enhanced version of the popular ringtone manager for Handspring's Treo Communicator. Ringo enables users to compose and share custom ringtones or download and install new ringtones from the Internet. Adding to Ringo's recent enhancement of establishing customized ringtones for specific callers or groups of callers, Ringo will now enable users to assign photographs or graphical icons for each caller or group.

Ringo is a ringtone manager and composer application specifically designed for the Handspring Treo Communicator, an integrated Palm OS wireless communicator product. Ringo is the first ringtone manager to bring caller-specific ringtones and pictures to the Treo, giving users options for customizing their Communicator and methods of easily identifying incoming callers.

Rather than straining to read the name on the Treo's Caller ID feature, users can now simply associate a photograph or other graphic to each individual or to groups of callers who are classified together, such as "business," "family," or "friends." When the Treo user receives a new call, the incoming caller can be identified both by a customized ringtone and their picture or some other icon.

"The Treo is a lifestyle device and is the perfect personalized handheld, meeting each user's own specific needs," said Iain Barclay, Electric Pocket's co-founder and chief product officer. "The ability to put faces with the names of incoming callers is a fun and practical addition to Ringo."

Ringo enables Treo users to use pictures stored in the popular SplashPhoto format and supports full 16-bit color images. Ringo comes complete with 15 cartoon icons, giving users a quick and easy way of adding visual appeal to their Treos.
