Airpath Member Network Creates Unified Global WiFi 'Hot Spot' Network

Hot Spot Owners Can Use Existing Equipment to Participate In The Network

TOLEDO, Ohio, Aug 1, 2002 - Airpath Wireless, Inc., a recognized leader in the creation, deployment and interconnection of WiFi Hot Spot Internet Access, announces the flexibility of its member network to work seamlessly with companies who have existing Hot Spot equipment.

Wireless ISP's, hotels, airports, coffee shops and other venues that have already invested in public access network equipment can easily join as an Airpath Member Network. Companies that are already operating Hot Spots and Hot Zones using industry standard RADIUS accounting software and new Hot Spot Subscriber gateways, such as Colubris and Nomadix can quickly expand their footprint and increase traffic to their locations by using the Airpath Member Network, which is free to join.

"Our roaming network is a 'Win-Win-Win' opportunity for our members," said Tim Barrett, President of Airpath Wireless. "Hot Spot owners win because the network drives additional users to their location and they are compensated for the amount of time other members' end users access the Internet through their hot spot. Service Providers win because they can offer their subscriber base branded high-speed roaming access at the price they choose with a cap on the amount the Service Provider could have to pay for any one subscriber who accesses multiple Hot Spot locations throughout the month. With the Airpath Roaming Network, Service Providers always retain control of their subscribers. And, of course, subscribers win by having reliable high-speed Internet service available to them while they travel with a single username and password and no special software required to use the service."

"The Airpath Roaming Network is ubiquitous for end-users, offering easy- to-use 'anywhere' access to the Internet through the network's WiFi or Wired Hot Spots," said Todd Myers, CEO of Airpath Wireless. "Our network can be similarly compared to the Plus(TM) or Cirrus(TM) networks in the ATM world-- people can access the Network anywhere they see the 'Airpath Member Network' logo, using the same user ID and password, regardless of location or venue. Using Airpath's aggregation experience and team of polished developers, Airpath has created a global settlement system that handles all of the subscriber transactions."
