Wildfire Virtual Assistant Enhanced With Contact Management and Data Synchronization Capabilities


Voice-Activated Assistant now connects to Microsoft(R) Outlook(R) and adds Web interface for contact management

WALTHAM, Mass., Aug 1, 2002 -- Wildfire Communications, Inc., a pioneer in voice-activated virtual assistant technology, today announced the addition of the Wildfire(R) Contact Manger to the Wildfire Virtual Assistant. The Contact Manager enables Wildfire users to seamlessly import contacts from Microsoft Outlook directly into their Wildfire account, eliminating the need to recreate information and allowing access to those contacts through voice commands.

The addition of the new Contact Manger expands Wildfire's capabilities by broadening users' access to information to now include voice, PC and Web interfaces. The desktop interface provides the ability to download contacts from Outlook to Wildfire, where the contact names are converted from text to speech, enabling the contact to be accessed by Wildfire for services such as voice dialing, group messaging and fax. Once the contact is imported the user could simply instruct Wildfire to "Call... Joe... at work," and Wildfire will dial the phone number which was imported. Even names that are difficult to pronounce can be tuned with Wildfire's built in phonetic converter. The Web interface provides a convenient way to access and manage contacts when you're on the road or unable to access your desktop. Wildfire Contact Manager also supports the ability to send contact names from your Nokia phone to Wildfire.
