P-Cube Service Control Platform Integrates With Funk Software's RADIUS/AAA
Solutions To Deliver Real-Time Subscriber Awareness For Advanced Data

Sunnyvale, CA, August 5, 2002 - P-Cube, Inc., the originator of programmable
IP service control platforms, today announced a strategic relationship with
Funk Software that integrates P-Cube's products with Funk Software's
Steel-Belted RadiusŪ suite of RADIUS/AAA solutions for subscriber
authentication and accounting. For the first time, this combination gives
mobile wireless operators the real-time subscriber awareness, service
control, metering, monitoring, and reporting they need to offer customized
services and billing plans and to fully optimize service delivery through
their networks. Funk Software is the dominant supplier of RADIUS/AAA
solutions to mobile wireless carriers, and this new relationship allows
carriers to easily add P-Cube's advanced subscriber awareness and service
control capabilities while preserving their investments in Funk Software's
AAA solutions.
P-Cube's service control platforms empower wireless providers to increase
revenues and subscriber loyalty by offering new billing models for data
services based on destination, content or application, or to offer pre-paid
billing plans that can be easily monitored and renewed by the customer. And,
by providing precision awareness and control of service usage, P-Cube's
platforms ensure highly efficient utilization of existing transport
networks, making it easier for carriers to add new, revenue-generating
applications and premium services and to accurately authenticate and bill
for them.

Funk Software's Steel-Belted Radius RADIUS/AAA server provides full
authentication, authorization, and accounting capabilities for mobile
carriers, as well as real-time "state" information to servers on the network
that deliver services to subscribers. State information includes the status
of a subscriber's connection and what content should be delivered. In
addition, Steel-Belted Radius offers efficient, flexible service delivery,
carrier-grade reliability and scalability, and seamless integration with
billing and provisioning systems. To ensure appropriate billing procedures,
the system also logs and records all subscriber connection data for
appropriate billing.
