Orange Chooses Scan Mobile to Provide SMS Applications to its Subscribers

London, UK -- Scan Mobile, a leading provider of mobile applications and technology, and Orange, one of the world's most advanced and fastest-growing mobile communications companies, today announced a partnership to deliver SMS services to Orange subscribers. These applications will extend Orange's portfolio of consumer offerings, delivering additional value to subscribers through new and unique services.

Through this relationship, Orange will license applications and technology from Scan Mobile including ticketing and shopping. Orange subscribers will then be able to purchase tickets to nightclubs and music festivals, as well as buy CDs and DVDs by sending a message to short code 7467 (SHOP).

"Mobile network operators have found that SMS services don't stop at person-to-person communication," stated Robert Hamilton, Sr. Vice President of Product Development. "We are pleased to work with Orange to lead the market by offering consumers revolutionary SMS services such as mobile ticketing and shopping."

Orange's festival and club ticketing services will be powered by Scan Mobile's TexTicketTM mobile ticketing application. These services will provide consumers with mobile access to festivals such as Glastonbury, and Scan Mobile's extensive club ticketing database, including the UK's coolest clubs such as Ministry of Sound, Car Wash, and Slinky. Scan Mobile will also provide Orange with an end-to-end mobile shopping and fulfillment service, allowing consumers to easily purchase CDs and DVDs from their mobile phone using SMS.

"Offering intuitive, user-friendly applications that reflect Orange's philosophy and personality is a crucial part of Orange's strategy for success," said Steve Wallage, M- Commerce Senior Product Manager, Orange UK. "We chose to partner with Scan Mobile because we believe that they provide the highest standard of mobile applications in the marketplace."

Scan Mobile applications are powered by the Scan Mobile Platform, which allows users to interact with applications using naturally constructed messages, such as "Do you have any tickets for Glastonbury?" The Scan Platform also enables automated customer support and creates user profiles, allowing Orange to personalise their services and effectively segment and target subscribers based on interests.

Additional applications powered by Scan Mobile will be introduced to Orange subscribers in the near future.
