NMS Communications Teams with VOCEWEB.COM to Deliver Dacom’s Voice Portal Service in Korea
NMS’ State of the Art Technology Enables Thousands of Korean’s to Take
Advantage of Dacom’s Revolutionary Voice Portal Service
Framingham, MA January 23, 2002 NMS Communications (NASDAQ: NMSS), a leading supplier of technology for tomorrow’s networks, today announced that VOCEWEB.COM, a voice web solution and service provider, has selected NMS’ award-winning voice services platform to facilitate delivery of Dacom’s Voice Chollian, the second voice portal service based on VoiceXML to be offered in Korea. Dacom, a leading Korean Internet and e-commerce service provider, has already garnered thousands of commercial customers for its Voice Chollian service.
With the help of NMS’ industry-leading echo cancellation technology, barge-in capability and broad API functionality, VOCEWEB.COM was able to provide Dacom with the high-performance, carrier-grade technology necessary for delivery of quality voice portal services as are within Voice Chollian. Additionally, NMS’ highly scalable, reliable and cost effective platform enabled Dacom and VOCEWEB.COM to bring voice portal services to market quickly and at a lower cost.
Within Voice Chollian, Dacom is using VOCEWEB.COM’s voice portal platform, VEBtube™, designed to make the information and services of the Internet accessible from any telephone. VEBtube™ is an integrated package of hardware and software components based on CORBA for high scalability. VEBtube™ includes a VoiceXML browser engine and an off-the-shelf speech recognition and text-to-speech engine.
