National Summit on Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) with Wireless Communication and Computing Devices in Healthcare Facilities
Sponsored by MoHCA (Mobile Healthcare Alliance) and preceding Mobile Health Care Conference and Exhibition, October 17-18, 2002, Sands Expo, and Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas, NV
Washington DC: September 23, 2002 –The Mobile Healthcare Alliance (MoHCA) is sponsoring the first National Summit on EMI, representing key stakeholder perspectives in order to develop a national policy for addressing EMI in healthcare facilities.
As mobile handheld devices gain acceptance in point-of-care computing and are increasingly used for charge capture, hospital rounds, order entry, ED, and other applications, the safety hazards concerning EMI for medical devices continue to be a hurdle to broader industry utilization.
Healthcare providers, vendors and others from the healthcare industry are invited to participate in this high-level summit on October 15-16, 2002, at the Sands Expo and Venetian Hotel. The Mobile Health Care Conference and Exhibition follows the Summit, held in conjunction with CTIA.
