About pv3 Mobilemedia System(TM)
PacketVideo's pv3 Mobilemedia System is a 3GPP compliant end-to-end wireless multimedia solution that encodes, delivers and decodes wireless
multimedia, video, and audio over error-prone wireless networks. pvPlatform comprises pvAuthor(TM) for encoding content, pvServer for controlling
and delivering rich media, and pvPlayer(TM) for decoding and displaying the content on a mobile device. Each component enables wireless operators,
device manufacturers, and application and content developers to deliver rich media over current and next-generation wireless networks. One of the
most significant features of pv3 Mobilemedia System is PacketVideo's FrameTrack(TM) dynamic rate control technology. FrameTrack provides
uninterrupted video and audio streaming at the best possible quality in wireless, error-prone networks by dynamically varying the bit rate of video
transmitted. pvServer uses FrameTrack to adjust the frame rate automatically for each individual subscriber based on video quality information
detected by pvPlayer in real time.
PacketVideo's products are compliant with standards and specifications from 3GPP, 3GPP2, MPEG-4, WAP, IETF and other global standards
organizations and technical forums. pvPlayer is optimized for major mobile chipsets from manufacturers such as ARM, Infineon, Intel, Lucent,
Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments. PacketVideo is also working in cooperation with the world's leading handset manufacturers such as Casio,
Compaq, Motorola, Sagem, Sanyo, Sendo, Sharp and many others in order to integrate PacketVideo technology into multimedia-capable mobile phones
and PDAs.
