O2 Ireland selects Webraska’s SmartZone middleware and applications to launch WAP, Web and SMS Location Based Services in Ireland
London, UK & Dublin, Ireland – October 24th, 2002 - Webraska, the worldwide provider of location-based services (LBS) and enabling platforms, announced today that O2 Ireland, a wholly owned subsidiary of mmO2 plc and a leading network operator, has chosen Webraska’s portfolio of LBS applications and SmartZone middleware platforms for the deployment of Locator for WAP, Web and two-way SMS.
The range of services to be offered will include the full range of SmartZone Applications enabling subscribers to:
· Locate and be located by their friends (on a permission only basis), using “BuddyFinder”
· Search for nearby movies and cinemas
· Search for restaurants and pubs
· Request directions to selected destinations by foot or by car

All applications have been developed using the Webraska SmartZone LBS Platform, providing:
· Subscriber authentification, provisioning and profiling
· Dynamic menu structures based on subscriber preferences, profiling and history
· Continuity of user-experience and access to shared profiling and history across web, wap and SMS interfaces
· Web-based definition of profile and preferences by subscribers including favourite locations and buddy list
· Core Geospatial functionality such as address matching, routing, mapping and spatial searching
· Rapid application customisation and deployment by Webraska Professional Services Team
