Mobile telephones help Europeans keep their romances alive

URL(s): www.siemens-mobile.com

Thanks to the mobile phone, Europeans have discovered a new way to communicate with loved ones and keep romance alive. In a recent survey carried out by Siemens Information and Communication Mobile (IC Mobile), the content of SMS's and preferred motifs on mobile phones were carefully examined. The results reveal that love and romance are high on the list with very interesting national tendencies. Siemens responded to the survey by introducing a special range of romantic CLIPitTM covers for the C45.

Generally European men favor more direct communication with SMS messages by sending spicier messages than European women, who are more likely to communicate through suggestion and subtle hints. In the survey, the British were found to send racier messages than their European counterparts.

Italians, along with the French and Spanish, are more likely to conduct a secret love affair using their mobile phones than any other national group. Not surprisingly, Italian and Spanish women admitted checking their partners' phones for evidence of such an affair.

The French were not able to keep up to their romantic reputation: They are less likely to send romantic messages than any other national group, though they would consider proposing marriage using their mobile phones. Conversely the Germans, thought to be unromantic, actually send more romantic texts than any other European group, followed closely by the British.

The old adage that says romance dies after marriage lives on in the age of SMS. In nearly all countries, married people were overall less likely to send romantic messages than singles. British SMS habits are a clear example of these tendencies - only 24 percent of the married mobile phone owners in the U.K. send their spouses texts, compared to 61 percent of unmarried people involved in a relationship.

The other half of the survey dealt with the pictures and images mobile phone users would most like to see on their telephones. For the most part, more people across Europe would prefer an amorous picture on their mobile phones than any other motif. The majority of the men interviewed would opt for a photo of their partner, while Italian men were three times likelier than women to favor a saucy photo. Italian women are just as likely to choose a picture of a farm animal as a photo of their loved one.

The special series of romantic CLIPitTM covers allows owners of the Siemens C45 to personalize their phone with the perfect romantic motif. It is also possible at www.my-siemens.com/my-clipit to design a individualized CLIPitTM cover, which would make the dream of a mobile phone with the partner's photo reality. Additionally, the C45 offers its owners Intelligent Typing (T9), which helps in composing romantic texts Europeans love to send. Group SMS messages are also possible with the C45.
