Infonet Expands GRX Coverage to Over Sixty Wireless Operators

-- Agreements With 12 GRX Operators Utilizes the Power of Infonet's Terrestrial Global MPLS Network to Allow Wireless Data Roaming Between Mobile Networks

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Oct 29, 2002 - Infonet Services Corporation (NYSE:IN) (FSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications for multinationals, today announced that in addition to the established partnership with Comfone, the world's first roaming broker and provider of signaling, data clearing and financial services to the mobile communications industry, it has now established GPRS Roaming Exchange (GRX) Peering Agreements with 12 other GRX operators. These agreements significantly enhance the development of international GPRS data roaming between wireless mobile networks and ensure that the Infonet/Comfone partnership is well-positioned to offer mobile operators one of the most highly connected GRX services available. GPRS roaming provides continuous wireless access to various business applications from locations worldwide and is an essential development in the process of transitioning to 3G wireless technologies.

The Infonet GRX network, GRXpress(R), utilizes the power of Infonet's MPLS-enabled IP network, together with the Peering Agreements, to position GRXpress as one of, if not the most concentrated and best connected GRX infrastructures in the market sector today, with connectivity to over 60 mobile operators.

Infonet has now established GRX peering agreements with more than two thirds of the operators who are connected to the common peering point at the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX), and is confident that the balance will be completed by year-end. Infonet and Comfone were amongst the pioneers of GRX networking and peering, having been instrumental factors in establishing the fully operational connection at the Peering Exchange in Amsterdam.

More than a year after initiating the partnership with Comfone and the launch of the Comfone GRX, powered by GRXpress, Infonet continues to ensure its multinational clients receive the widest and most reliable IP-based services available today.

Walter Heutschi, President and CEO of Comfone, commented, "Comfone's commitment to support the drive for GPRS roaming worldwide parallels the objectives of the GSM Association to increase the number of GPRS roaming agreements and encourage GRX peering. With 13 GPRS operators as customers and 12 GRX peering agreements in place, making a total reach of more than 60 GPRS operators, we are confident that the achievements of 2002 will carry us forward to further success in 2003."

"Infonet is committed to the development of all areas of the wireless mobile data market. We are pleased to provide our clients with the benefits of dealing with the two leading companies in global communications and roaming, Infonet and Comfone," said Jose Collazo, Chairman, President and CEO of Infonet. "As worldwide travel is creating an increasing demand for more sophisticated cross-border communication solutions, many of our multinational clients look forward to accessing a global GPRS service."
