HeyAnita to Offer Carriers In-Network Voice Solutions With HP
Global Integration and Marketing Alliance to Offer Carriers End-to-End Solutions
LOS ANGELES, Dec 12, 2002 - HeyAnita Inc., a leading voice software company, today announced an agreement
with HP to provide in-network voice solutions globally. Under the agreement, HP intends to provide systems integration services around
HeyAnita's voice software offerings. Additionally, HeyAnita and HP intend to market HeyAnita's FreeSpeech(TM) Gateway Server which
includes the FreeSpeech(TM) Voice Browser, capable of interpreting VoiceXML and SALT applications, and HeyAnita's prepackaged voice
applications for deployment on HP hardware. This relationship is intended to enable wireless and landline carriers to efficiently deploy
high-density, in-network voice applications for their customers.
As part of the companies' alliance, HeyAnita is integrating its voice software with a variety of HP hardware and telephony platforms. These
platforms will range from carrier-grade, high-density voice access solutions to HP ProLiant servers and HP Opencall SS7 technologies. One
key advantage of the companies' approach will be the flexibility that it offers to carriers -- flexibility to deploy VoiceXML or SALT-based
solutions, to choose from a variety of leading ASR and TTS engines, and to choose port densities and platforms based on specific network
requirements.
The HeyAnita and HP offerings are intended to enable carriers to provide services targeted at the mobile professional that can generate
incremental subscription-based revenue, reduce churn, and increase minutes of usage. HeyAnita's prepackaged voice applications range from
personal information management tools to location-specific and content-based solutions. Some examples include:
-- Voice Access to Corporate Email and Calendaring (MS Outlook
and Lotus Notes)
-- Voice Access to Voicemail (VAVM)
-- Voice-Activated Dialing (VAD)
-- Alerts and Notifications
-- Voice Activated Directory Assistance
-- Location-Based Services (such as Traffic Information and
Driving Directions)
-- Content-Based Applications (such as News, Sports, Weather,
Movies, and Stock Quotes)
Under the agreement, HP Services will become one of HeyAnita's preferred systems integrators for the HeyAnita voice services software,
delivering and implementing consulting services to enable carriers to deploy their voice solutions. As a global solutions provider and systems
integrator, HP Services delivers telecommunications solutions to leading carriers and service providers around the world.
"Carriers, both domestic and international, require highly-scalable in-network solutions for their new voice-enabled services," said Sanjeev
Kuwadekar, Chief Executive Officer of HeyAnita. "The combination of HeyAnita's voice software technology and HP's carrier-grade servers,
consulting and support services provides telecom operators with world-class end-to-end, scalable and flexible voice solutions."
HP provides solutions to telecommunications network and service providers globally for network, operations, rich media and mobile and
messaging needs. The offerings expected to be delivered by HeyAnita and HP will expand HP's overall enhanced voice services solutions
portfolio.
"HP believes that enhanced voice services, such as voice-activated dialing, voice-activated messaging and consumer voice portals will provide
new revenue opportunities for service providers," said Peter Dragunas, director, Network Domain Solutions, HP Network Service Provider
Business Unit. "We are excited to work closely with HeyAnita to deliver these types of solutions to our customers."
