Philips Selected as Semiconductor Solution for Hop-On's CDMA Disposable Cell Phone
IRVINE, Calif., Dec 13, 2002 - Hop-On (OTC: HPON), the leading developer of disposable and
fully recyclable cell phones, today announced the beginning of an ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) supplier relationship with Philips
focused on the advancement of disposable CDMA wireless phones. Hop-On's CDMA disposable cell phone, which is based on Philips'proven semiconductor system solution, is a technological advancement over older legacy-type analog models.
Hop-On worked closely with Holley Communications, the design and engineering partner, to develop a cost effective CDMA phone for the
disposable market. Holley acquired the CDMA ASIC technology and software protocol stack that was originally developed by the
semiconductor division at Philips, a unit of Royal Philips Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE: PHG). Philips continues to manufacture the CDMA
ASICs for customers, and will build the CDMA solutions for Hop-On.
