mFormation and GoAmerica Team to Provide Fully Managed Wireless Deployments for Corporate Customers
Baylor Health Care System Named as First Customer to use Combined Offering
EDISON, N.J., Feb. 11 -- mFormation Technologies Inc., an emerging provider of Wireless Infrastructure Management software, and GoAmerica Inc. (Nasdaq: GOAM), a leading wireless data services provider,
today announced they will team to offer secure, controlled and fully managed wireless data solutions to corporate customers. As part of GoAmerica's wireless offering, mFormation(TM) ENTERPRISE MANAGER will provide customers with improved security and control over growing wireless deployments. In addition, mFormation will integrate GoAmerica's infrastructure with its offering, benefiting from GoAmerica's carrier connections and Network
Operation Center technology. Baylor Health Care System is the first customer to adopt the combined solution.
GoAmerica will now offer mFormation ENTERPRISE MANAGER to corporate customers as part of its wireless solution, providing enterprise customers with comprehensive security, control and management capabilities for wireless deployments. Through a centralized Web-based console, IT managers can remotely look into wireless handhelds in the field to get up-to-date device, user and network asset and configuration information, lock or delete data from lost or stolen devices, and monitor wireless application performance, pinpointing user, network and device problems as they occur.
An early beneficiary of the combined offering is Baylor Health Care System, which is in the process of deploying GoAmerica's Go.Web(TM) service throughout the organization. "Wireless handhelds are becoming increasingly
important to our business. Our management and administrative staff have begun to depend on them for staying connected at any time, from anywhere, and we have future plans to deploy wireless devices among the medical staff," said John Crouch, Baylor's Personal Communication Manager. "As part of GoAmerica's service, mFormation's software enables us to easily monitor, control and manage our wireless device deployments in the field, without making our users cradle the devices or tie them into the corporate local area network. And we
can immediately deal with lost or stolen devices by remotely locking or even 'zapping' the device to wipe out the sensitive data that might be on it. These capabilities are vital to our ability to securely roll out wireless within the organization."
"Security, data privacy and control are critical to GoAmerica customers," said Josh Rochlin, the vice president of business development for GoAmerica. "mFormation's software gives our enterprise customers increased IT control over deployed wireless devices. We are pleased to offer not only the wireless solution, but the management capabilities our corporate customers need."
"GoAmerica's offerings have enabled wireless access to corporate data to gain widespread acceptance in data-sensitive industries, such as health care, pharmaceuticals, financial services and the government," said Ron Pettengill, mFormation's CEO. "By integrating our solutions, the two companies are working to ensure that corporations adopting these solutions can achieve the same levels of security, control and management over their wireless deployments as they have over the rest of their IT infrastructure."
