What is the Future for Mobile Devices?


Aaron Marcus Reveals Mobile Future at ACD Seminar 're:Wireless' in Berkeley 5 April 2002

EMERYVILLE, Calif. and NEW YORK, Mar 14, 2002 - Today's technology enables you to use the telephone on the train, send e-mail from your boat, and take an online class in the park. Is your mobile device up to the challenge? What are the important considerations for the design of future mobile devices?

In a seminar for the American Center for Design, (ACD), Aaron Marcus and Eugene Chen of Aaron Marcus and Associates, Inc., will explore usability and aesthetic design standards for future mobile devices. Marcus and Chen's lecture "Advanced User-Interface Design for North-American Mobile Devices in 2003 from Samsung, Korea," will take place at a seminar, hosted by ACD, entitled "re:Wireless" in Berkeley, CA on 5 April 2002. Marcus and Chen will discuss the design elements required for successful mobile devices for the North American market.

Their lecture is based on recent work for Samsung's future mobile device. Other featured speakers include representatives from Gravity Tank, Group for User Interface Research at UC Berkeley, Mead Consulting/MetaDesign, and Handspring, Inc.

ACD's re:Wireless seminar is co-chaired by Aaron Marcus, Founder and President, Aaron Marcus and Associates, Inc. (AM+A); and Bill Hill, President, MetaDesign North America. Developers of the wireless, mobile technology revolution will analyze and present provocative new designs for mobile telephones, personal communicators, and information appliances.
