ALIGO EXTENDS SUPPORT TO MORE THAN 500 WIRELESS DEVICES FOR MOBILE FIELD AND SALE FORCE SOLUTIONS
JavaOne attendees will be first to see most recent mobile device profile updates to Aligo M-1 Server that extend mobile applications to any wireless phone, PDA, or Pocket PC
San Francisco – March 21, 2001 - Aligo, Inc., the leading provider of Java™- based mobile application server software, announced that it now supports more than 500 mobile devices. Companies that rely on mobile field services and sales force solutions deployed on Aligo M-1 Mobile Application Server can be confident that Aligo’s platform will support virtually any wireless-enabled PDA, Pocket PC, or phone -- those available now and those coming in the future.
Aligo’s continuous updating of M-1 Server’s Presentation Engine as new devices are released in the market has led to its current flexibility, allowing users to choose the appropriate device for the job at hand. The Presentation Engine intelligently identifies any requesting device and automatically renders the mobile application based on device features and user preferences; developers do not need to write separate applications using different coding conventions for separate wireless devices. In addition, M-1 Server’s Personalization Engine allows developers to dynamically modify and further personalize built-in device profiles. Developers can even create customized device profiles for their unique devices or user requirement.
“Aligo M-1 Server is the underlying infrastructure for mobile field service and sales force applications at leading enterprises,” said Alper Turgut, president of Aligo. “At JavaOne, we will demonstrate the flexibility our 500+ device support gives to mobile workers and the developers who maintain their applications. In addition to the United States, M-1 Server’s underlying J2EE architecture enables us to instantly meet the needs of advance wireless markets such as those in Japan and Europe.”
The 500+ devices managed by Aligo M-1 Server includes coverage for all major wireless protocols, such as WAP, iHTML, jHTML, HDML, cHTML, HTML, and VXML. Java developers simply continue to program in Java, and M-1 Server seamlessly manages the device and protocol requirements.
