QUALCOMM to Host Third Annual BREW(TM) Developers Conference
Top Sponsors Include Verizon Wireless, Motorola and U.S. Cellular, as
Developers, Handset Manufacturers and Network Operators Gather for Premier
Event
SAN DIEGO, April 21 -
QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code
Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, today announced
the official line-up of sponsors, speakers, exhibitors and entertainment for
its third annual BREW Developers Conference in San Diego, April 28-30. The
conference provides a networking forum for attendees as well as opportunities
to learn from general session, technical and business tracks dedicated to
sharing knowledge and expert resources on QUALCOMM's Binary Runtime
Environment for Wireless(TM) (BREW) platform. An estimated 1,200 attendees
are expected at the event.

Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, president of QUALCOMM Wireless & Internet Group, will
kick-off the conference on Tuesday morning, April 29. Keynote and general
session speeches will follow, featuring QUALCOMM executives and wireless
industry leaders. Dr. Irwin Mark Jacobs, chairman and CEO of QUALCOMM, will
give the first keynote of the conference on Tuesday morning -- "3G Adoption,
Evolution and the Impact of BREW." On Wednesday, April 30, Dr. James Canton
with the Institute for Global Futures will deliver the morning keynote address
-- "Real-Time: The Future of mBusiness and the Wireless Information Society."
Top executives from China Unicom, Vivo (the Telefonica Moviles -- Portugal
Telecom joint venture in Brazil), KDDI of Japan, and ALLTEL and Verizon
Wireless of the United States will discuss their data services strategies and
how developers can work with them. Speakers from these wireless operators
include Dr. William Weicong Li, general manager - marketing for China Unicom;
Dr. Yasuhiko Ito, executive managing officer for the solution business sector
of KDDI; Luis Avelar, vice president of information technologies and products
and services engineering for Vivo; Philip Junker, executive vice president of
marketing for ALLTEL; and Jim Straight, vice president of data and wireless
Internet services for Verizon Wireless.
