iPhonebook(TM) Now Available on Get It Now(SM) from Verizon Wireless
Wireless Access to Contact Lists Means Never Losing, Forgetting or Writing
Down a Phone Number Again
BEDMINSTER, N.J., SAN JOSE, Calif. and SAN DIEGO, April 28-- From the 2003
BREW Developers Conference, Verizon Wireless, the largest wireless service
provider, and Xpherix Corporation, the leader in personalized mobile
connectivity, today announced that iPhonebook is now available on Get It
Now(SM) from Verizon Wireless. iPhonebook wirelessly links content from
Microsoft Outlook(R), Outlook Express(R) or Palm(R) desktop PIM to Get It
Now-enabled phones.
"iPhonebook reflects the needs of the busy mobile professional, and in fact,
anyone who needs access to contact information when away from the office or
home," said Nick Walker, Xpherix president and CEO. "No longer will these
`road warriors' have to carry multiple devices, put up with manual entry or
miss making important calls because they don't have proper contact
information. We are pleased that Verizon Wireless is making iPhonebook
easily available to its more than 30 million customers."
iPhonebook offers one-device convenience for all personal address book phone
numbers. The wireless phone display can also be used to browse other
personal address book content such as addresses, email addresses and the
Notes field, eliminating the need to carry electronic organizers, laptops or
bulky address books. Additionally, the Download Contacts feature enables
users to populate the phone's built-in phonebook automatically with contacts
from the desktop PIM.
Pricing and Availability:
Verizon Wireless customers who currently have a Get It Now-capable phone can
try a one-day free demonstration or download the iPhonebook application for
just $3.99 monthly access, in addition to airtime used. Airtime is used
during the selection and download process. Get It Now-enabled phones are
available in more than 1,200 Verizon Wireless Communications Stores, at
