A complete tool kit for quality assurance and testing on Symbian OS environment


Digia®QualityKit for Symbian OS

[Press release, Helsinki, April 29, 2003] -- Digia, a leading designer and developer of Symbian? OS based software for mobile phone manufacturers world-wide, announced today Digia®QualityKit, a complete set of tools for implementation, verification, testing and maintenance phases of the Symbian OS software development. This product line supports managed and secure platform development, modification and integration.

In implementation, integration, verification, testing and maintenance phases the quality of the software is the key factor. Software quality has direct effect on time-to-market and profitability. Quality Kit is a set of tools that improve the software quality in Symbian OS environment. In addition it helps to the time-to-market of Symbian OS software project, even a complete smartphone creation.

Digia®QualityKit consists of three major applications: Digia®EUnit, Digia®AutoBuild and Digia®AppTest.

Digia®AppTest is a testing tool that allows developers to record, edit and run functional and system tests on Symbian OS devices. Automated and re-usable test scripts enable managed, secure and fast development and variations of the software in the application level.

Digia®EUnit is a testing tool that allows developers to write and execute unit, module and integration tests run on Symbian OS devices. Re-usable test packages enable managed and secure development and modifications of the software in the module level.

Digia®AutoBuild is an application that helps in build and integration process and management. It assists to verify that the modules, developed into the Symbian OS, compile and work on the required platform. Digia®AutoBuild runs on Windows OS.

Digia®QualityKit is targeted for Symbian OS developers and manufacturers. By providing a complete set of tools for managed Symbian OS software development, Digia aims to assist device manufacturers and software developers to achieve both high software quality and time to market requirements. Digia®QualityKit is commercially available in Q3 2003.
