TechnoCom Sells 16,000 Mobile Management Software Licenses to SAIC
Los Angeles, Calif. – May 7, 2003 – TechnoCom Corporation®, wireless location leader, announces that Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has purchased enhancements to 14,000 existing software licenses that include TechnoCom’s Programmable Event Generator™ smart mobile device software and LM Exchange™ mobile management middleware. SAIC has also purchased 2,400 new licenses, as part of its continued deployment of FleetOptimizer for BellSouth.
“Two years ago, SAIC integrated TechnoCom’s software platform with our FleetOptimizer system being delivered to BellSouth, and the system is now operating with over 15,000 vehicles,” said Bud Semon, SAIC vice president in the Wireless Systems Group. “This system is helping to provide cost savings and functionality to the client.”
TechnoCom’s software provides the capability to control the behavior of in-vehicle location tracking and messaging devices, providing the flexibility to remotely alter event reporting without manual reprogramming. TechnoCom’s Programmable Event Generator (PEG™) and LM Exchange, a network-neutral middleware platform, were enhanced to provide a dual-mode satellite and terrestrial interface to enable cost effective message routing. Messages are sorted depending on priority: critical messages, such as distress alerts, are sent immediately and lower priority messages are batched for more economical delivery.
“Our experience with SAIC spans many projects and in all cases SAIC has shown its commitment to the highest quality solutions,” says Masoud Motamedi, President of TechnoCom. “FleetOptimizer is a powerful system used to create quantifiable efficiencies for fleet performance. Combined with TechnoCom’s LM Exchange and PEG, it gives users a customizable system that can be easily and frequently reconfigured to meet new requirements.”
LM Exchange and PEG are used with third party devices and TechnoCom’s GPS location and messaging devices to enable cost-effective end-to-end location solutions. The system is designed for flexibility and ease of migration, supporting virtually every data network including GPRS, iDEN™, CDPD and Mobitex. CDMA and 802.11 will be released later this year. Over 30,000 devices are using TechnoCom’s location products.
