Nokia One Exec Connect - mobile office at an executive pace

URL(s): http://www.nokia.com/nokiaone

May 12, 2003 - Nokia has today introduced Exec Connect as a part of the Nokia One Mobile Connectivity Service. Exec Connect enables intelligent and more efficient information management for mobile executives by extending the company network while away from the office.

With Exec Connect, the executive has email communication, calendar and company directories conveniently at hand enhancing productivity to keep up with the pace of business. For companies Nokia One Exec Connect brings more rapid and continuous communication that speeds up the business processes, enhances customer service and facilitates accelerated and informed decision-making.

"The value of mobile technologies for enterprises is very clear," said Gerhard Romen, Head of Sales and Marketing for Nokia One. "Easy to use mobile technology can play a significant role in providing competitive advantage for organizations by enabling executives to gain secure access to their corporate email and other resources and to efficiently interact with employees."

Exec Connect enables efficient mobile access and management for corporate information with an intuitive and user-friendly interface. The user experience is further enhanced through tight integration with the mobile device buttons and display screen. For example, email addresses can easily be added from contacts stored in the device, just like adding a message recipient's phone number to a text message.

Corporate executives are able to capitalize on flexible working practices by harnessing the latest open standard technology for mobile data. Nokia One Exec Connect prioritizes the best transport mechanism for the connection, such as GPRS. It effectively shields the user experience and environment from the technical issues of access points, communications settings, available networks and roaming capabilities. This will give the user a consistent, simpler and more cost effective access to the office while on the move. Exec Connect will be available by the end of 2003 in multiple versions, based on Java, Symbian or XHTML technologies depending on the user's device.
