GAMESPY INVITES GAMERS TO A VIRTUAL E3 EXPERIENCE

New GameSpy LiveWire Chats Let Game Fans, for the First Time, Interact Directly With Video Game Industry Giants on the Show Floor

Irvine, Calif. - May 12, 2003 - GameSpy Industries will be hosting GameSpy LiveWire - a series of live, interactive audio, graphic and text chats from the trade show floor - at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), May 14 - 16, 2003, giving gamers the opportunity to interact directly for the first time with the biggest newsmakers at the show.

The GameSpy LiveWire chats will feature video game business icons talking and taking questions about breaking news and cool new games, as well as discussions on hot topics in the industry such as trends in online gaming. Gamers can check out screenshots and graphics from the most highly anticipated games while they chat.

GameSpy editors, alongside top entertainment technology radio personality David Lawrence, will host the chats. Confirmed guests include legendary designers Peter Molyneux and Randy Pitchford who will showcase their much-heralded new titles Black and White 2 and Halo (for the PC), respectively. Will Wright, the creator of The Sims, will also be a guest, to discuss what's coming in The Sims 2.

The chats also will include daily morning and mid-afternoon editorial roundtables, where GameSpy editors will first forecast what they expect to see each day, and then come back to recap their daily picks.

"GameSpy has always believed that the gaming community is a vital source of information and insight for other gamers," Dave Kosak, creative director, GameSpy Industries, said. "By producing these interactive chats at the industry's largest trade show, we're reinforcing our commitment to help fans connect with games and other gamers by giving GameSpy users direct and personal access to the biggest names in the games industry."

Join the Chat, Live - Online or In-Person

E3 attendees are encouraged to come to the GameSpy LiveWire interview stage at GameSpy's meeting room at Concourse Hall 150B in the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Online users will participate in GameSpy LiveWire through GameSpy Arcade, GameSpy's leading online gaming and community service. They can download GameSpy Arcade at www.gamespyarcade.com and log in to participate. All connections - broadband and dial-up - are supported.

The GameSpy LiveWire chats kick off at 9 a.m. on May 14, and run through 4 p.m. on May 15. A full schedule of GameSpy LiveWire chats will be available at www.gamespy.com/e32003. The chats also will be converted to MP3 files and made available for later listening on GameSpy's E3 site.

GameSpy will have more than 80 editors and game community managers covering E3. In addition to the GameSpy LiveWire chats, gamers can go to www.gamespy.com/e32003 to get up-to-date news, previews, interviews, screenshots and demos of games released at the show.
