WIND Telecom Launches New SMSurprise Service, An Amazing Way to Turn Any SMS into an MMS
Innovative New Service Uses FunMail Magic MMS Platform to Convert Any Italian SMS Message into a “surprise” MMS
(May 21, 2002) PLEASANTON, CA--- WIND Telecom has launched a new service in Italy called SMSurprise, which converts any SMS message into a MMS Picture Message or Animation. The service uses FunMail’s Magic MMS Platform to convert common Italian expressions into clever MMS messages starring famous characters such as Snoopy, Dilbert, Garfield and South Park.
WIND is marketing the FunMail peer-to-peer MMS messaging technology under their own brand, SMSurprise, with an emphasis on the fun and unexpected nature of some of the matches the FunMail system comes up with.
“MMS FunMails are always unique – a combination of your text message and our animations and graphics,” said Andy Baldocchi, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for FunMail. “SMSurprise is a clever brand name, and will be sure to appeal to the ‘Italian Generation Wireless’ customer.”
The service, launched in cooperation with conVISUAL, a leading European MMS services and technology company, is the first of its kind in the Italian market, and will be promoted heavily by WIND Telecom.
