Nortel Networks Wireless LAN 2200 Series Portfolio Wins SUPERQuest Top Security Award
Nortel Networks* won the highest honors in the Security Category of the sixth annual SUPERQuest Awards held at SUPERCOMM 2003, the premier annual communications infrastructure technology exhibition and conference. Nortel Networks Wireless LAN 2200 Series Portfolio was honored at the SUPERQuest Awards ceremony June 3 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
According to Jack Chalden, general manager of SUPERCOMM, "The strength and resiliency of this industry is reflected in the SUPERQuest Award Winners. These forward-thinking, innovative companies give promise to the continuing growth and development of this industry and show us exactly where we should be headed in the future."
Nortel Networks Wireless LAN 2200 Series Portfolio provides high-level security and unrestricted mobility to meet enterprise and carrier needs. It is designed to provide unparalleled choice and flexibility for customers implementing a wireless LAN (WLAN) solution, as well as for service providers seeking the best deployment options for 'hot spot' environments.
Nortel Networks WLAN 2200 Series Portfolio includes Nortel Networks WLAN Security Switch 2250, WLAN Access Point 2220, WLAN Mobile Adapter 2201 and WLAN Mobile Voice Client i2050. These products support full roaming, both 802.11a and b radio signaling protocols, and both centralized and distributed wireless architectures. The series enables security management services like privilege-based access and unauthorized access detection, as well as centralized control to protect and manage mobile communications over WLANs. Designed to serve as an extension of the wired infrastructure, it strengthens customers' security posture and protects existing network investments.
For six years, the SUPERQuest Awards have honored the best-built networks and most promising new technologies among SUPERCOMM exhibitors and their customers worldwide. SUPERQuest Award recipients have been selected as the best of the best in delivering exceptional network design, supporting technologies and products across all facets of the communications infrastructure industry. Winners are chosen by a panel of judges that includes industry-leading technology press, analysts, and other experts.
The premier annual communications infrastructure exhibition and conference, SUPERCOMM is owned jointly by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), www.tiaonline.org,** Arlington, Va., and the United States Telecom Association (USTA), www.usta.org,** Washington, DC.
