Borland Releases First Globalized Versions of CaliberRM and StarTeam Technologies Enhanced StarTeam 5.3 and CaliberRM 5.1 Feature Multiple Language Functionality SAN FRANCISCO--June 11, 2003--Borland Software Corporation (Booth #1509)(Nasdaq:BORL) today introduced the first globalized versions of StarTeam(R) 5.3 and CaliberRM(TM) 5.1, providing greater functionality for data in multiple languages. Through the ongoing integration and globalization of CaliberRM and StarTeam technologies, Borland is expanding its footprint to address each phase of the application lifecycle and thus breaking down global barriers, enabling greater collaboration and helping enterprises outside the U.S. build better software, faster. "This latest announcement demonstrates our commitment to the technology gained from our recent acquisition of Starbase and underscores the Borland commitment to meet the needs of enterprises worldwide," said Patrick Kerpan, vice president and general manager of DSP solutions at Borland. "Historically, StarTeam and CaliberRM were primarily distributed in the United States. With the enhancements included in these latest releases, we are reassuring our global customers that Borland is committed to providing high quality products." Borland StarTeam 5.3 is an automated configuration and change management system that places control of the development process in the hands of project teams. Borland CaliberRM 5.1 is an enterprise requirements management solution, designed to enable seamless collaboration for distributed teams. These solutions now support the storage and retrieval of data in languages other then English. StarTeam 5.3 Cross-Platform client has been localized in French, Japanese and German. This new version of CaliberRM now incorporates Borland(R) VisiBroker(R), allowing embedded software to interoperate with CORBA(R)-compliant enterprise applications. With the new VisiBroker integration, internal performance benchmarking shows that CaliberRM performance has improved by 100 to 300 percent under load, underscoring the Borland commitment to continually enhance its products and provide excellent solutions that accelerate application development for global development teams.
