O2 ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC ALLIANCE WITH THE BRITISH CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE

O2 and the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) today announced that they have joined together to raise awareness of the benefits of mobile services among BCC's 135,000 members. O2 is the BCC's first-ever mobile services partner, and for a 12 month period will be exclusively featured on the new Mobile Working Zone of Chamber Online (www.chamberonline.co.uk), due to launch later this month.

BCC and O2 will work together to co-develop the content and structure of the Mobile Working Zone, providing customers with the latest information on products and services and offering a direct and seamless purchase experience through the newly launched O2 Online Business Shop* (www.o2.co.uk/bizshop). Customers will be able to take advantage of high value tariffs and offers as well as utilise specifically developed account administration tools designed to improve efficiency.

The agreement gives O2 the opportunity to communicate effectively to the UK's small business community. O2 will benefit from access to the BCC's e-business clubs (a network of groups around the country some with over 1,000 members) that give small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) the opportunity to explore e-commerce possibilities and network with peers.

David Frost, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) said: "The BCC, as the UK's foremost business organisation, is continually looking for opportunities to bring value to its 135,000 member companies across the nation. Given that 84% of our members are small businesses, working closely with O2 gives us the opportunity to bring real benefit to growing companies through the O2 Online Business Shop."

Laurence Alexander, CEO of O2 Online said: "The BCC and its local network of chambers are seen by its members as the voice of business, especially small firms. This relationship highlights our commitment to working closely with small businesses to understand their specific mobile service needs."

The agreement bolsters the recent launch of O2's Online Business Shop (www.o2.co.uk/bizshop), which offers a range of exclusive mobile phone packages and services that business customers can structure online to suit their individual needs.
