IN-FUSIO ANNOUNCES MIDP 2.0 'ExEn Java tm Extensions' MOBILE GAME ENGINE AND ExEn PRODUCT FAMILY

Turning MIDP 2.0 Into Mobile Gaming Reality And Commercial Success, Advanced Features For ExEn

Bordeaux, France - June 11th 2003 - IN-FUSIO today announced the planned launch of its fully Java( MIDP 2.0 compliant 'client-side' games engine 'ExEn Java( Extensions' and confirmed its complete ExEn product range.

ExEn Java( Extensions, scheduled to be available by the end of 2003, will be fully MIDP2.0 compliant, but will add a series of additional APIs which optimise and add missing functionality to make mobile game access integration both seamless and easy-to-use. Specifically, IN-FUSIO's ExEn Java( Extensions will add a dedicated 3D component, advanced multi-player functionality, extended sound features and Flash( animation extensions.

Completing the 'client-side' games engine product family, IN-FUSIO also detailed the ExEn range of leading mobile games engines:

'ExEn Basic' (V2.1) - already available (embedded on 5 millions handsets)

( 256 colours or black and white, 2D, raycasting, client-side game engine, 140k (footprint)

'ExEn Advanced' - (V2.2) available now for handset integration by manufacturers

( 65K colours, polyphonic sound, 3D, in-game Flash(tm), client-side game engine, 240K (footprint)

The announcement gives mobile operators a clear strategic path for the continued development of Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) generating mobile game services and mobile game developers a 'catch-all' solution for profitable game development. Also for manufacturers, the ExEn product range is a straight-forward solution to address the mobile gaming market through all handsets, whether they be MIDP2.0 or not.

IN-FUSIO, which has been at the forefront of mobile gaming since 1998, now has a portfolio of services which accommodates all levels of the mobile gaming experience. With both ExEn Basic and Advanced, IN-FUSIO's understanding of mobile gamer interaction gives operators a reliable and proven service to generate additional ARPU. IN-FUSIO's ExEn Java( Extension offering will add functionality and 'ready-to-run' MIDP2.0 API expertise.

Thomas Landspurg, CTO, IN-FUSIO, explains: "ExEn Java( Extensions has been conceived for the end-user, with the same philosophy that we have successfully deployed with ExEn. It is a user-friendly game environment rather than a technological game engine. In addition to MIDP2.0 compatibility, ExEn Java( Extensions will offer a complete set of features that make the games easy-to-find, easy-to-use, with advanced interactive addictive features. For developers ExEn Java( Extensions offers a standardised API environment ensuring that we can get as close to a 'write once, publish anywhere' situation, thus minimising the risk and maximizing the potential audience."

IN-FUSIO not only provides a complete product family of 'client-side' mobile games engines but also the Gamezilla Multi-Format Platform, which is available now. Gamezilla is technology-agnostic, ensuring the delivery of mobile games whatever the underlying technology, including Java( games. Gamezilla manages game interactivity/competitions, game level unlocking, multiplayer interactions, billing and all functions associated with connectivity to the handset game engine.
