CHINGY HITS THE “JACKPOT” WITH URBANWORLD WIRELESS NATIONAL MARKETING CAMPAIGN
LOS ANGELES – July 23, 2003 – Priority Records continues its’ successful wireless marketing campaign efforts with UrbanWorld Wireless by launching a nation-wide campaign for rap artist Chingy’s latest album” Jackpot.” Via wireless devices such as two-way pagers and other hand held devices capable of receiving email, UrbanWorld Wireless will directly reach hundreds of thousands of subscribers.
The three-week campaign, which kicks off today aims to create a buzz for the album’s July release date through interaction via wireless devices reaching the African American/Urban Youth Market ages 17 to 35. Additionally, UrbanWorld Wireless campaign will integrate television to include the artists’ appearances such as last Thursday’s Chingy’s appearance on Jay Leno.
Prior to Chingy’s project, Priority Records also teamed up with UrbanWorld Wireless to promote Snoop Dogg’s newest album, “Paid Tha Cost To Be The Boss” and the hit single, “Beautiful” which Snoop Dogg garnered an award for “Best Collaboration” at the 3rd Annual BET Awards in June. Future Priority Records wireless campaigns will include rap artists Young Roscoe and Zane to name a few.
Priority Records in not the only company to turn UrbanWorld Wireless for wireless marketing campaigns and promotions. Def Jam Records recently locked a wireless marketing campaign to include artists such as Caddilac Tah, Ashanti, Wootang’s Method Man, 112 and Joe Budden’s projects with other’s in the pipeline due to begin in August 2003.
Additional campaigns in the music and entertainment arena also included De La Soul’s album “Art of Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump,” TV integrated wireless campaign “Spread the Word!” involving Comedy Central and the Dave Chappell Show. Additional noted campaigns include the, 8 Mile movie on Universal and Busta Rimes latest album “It Ain’t Safe No More,” to name a few.
