ALIGO ANNOUNCES REMEDY INTELLIGENT STAFFING, BROWN SHOE COMPANY AS NEW CUSTOMERS
San Francisco - January 29, 2002 - Aligo Inc., a leading provider of
world-class, profit-maximizing mobile business solutions, has added
two new domestic customers. Remedy Intelligent Staffing and The Brown
Shoe Company have selected Aligo's technology to mobile-enable their
groupware solutions.
Remedy Intelligent Staffing, an organization that supplies the
workforce with temporary and direct hire personnel, selected Aligo's
M-1 Mobile Access to mobilize its Microsoft Exchange Web-based
groupware, allowing the company access to email, calendar, contact
lists and other groupware functions from any mobile device and from
any location. With more than 280 offices nationwide and recent
billings exceeding $500 million, Remedy covers the business services,
manufacturing and information technology industries. The company's
executives, who travel continually, will be the first users of the
mobile e-mail/groupware technology; Remedy plans to stage the rollout
the solution to its other employees on an incremental basis.
"I was convinced of the value of this Aligo solution at the outset,"
said Mario Scubla, Chief Information Officer of Remedy. "Considering
the amount of time our executives spend out of the office, I knew they
would immediately see the productivity increases mobile groupware can
offer. And, the solution was extremely easy to deploy - another time
and efficiency gain."
The Brown Shoe Company, headquartered in St. Louis, operates the
Famous Footwear and Naturalizer retail shoe chains and manufacturers
several brands of footwear, including Life Stride, Dr. Scholl's, and
Buster Brown Shoes. Brown Shoe chose M-1 Mobile Access to extend
its Lotus Domino Web-based groupware to its employees for whom
wireless access to email and other Lotus Domino functions is
business-critical - including executives and sales staff, who use it,
for example, while on another floor of the building, or at a client
site thousands of miles away.
"We're very pleased that Remedy and Brown Shoe have chosen Aligo as
the technology that will mobile-enable their businesses," said Robert
Smith, president and chief executive officer of Aligo. "We believe
that wirelessly enabling email is the first step to demonstrating the
value of mobilizing every aspect of an enterprise. Aligo offers the
easiest and most cost-efficient way to take this step."
Built upon the award-winning Aligo M-1 Mobile Application Server,
Aligo M-1 Mobile Access offers mobile workers secure access to either
Lotus Domino or Microsoft Exchange. Field employees such as
salespeople, repair personnel, and other employees who require
wireless connectivity can now have instant wireless access to their
e-mail, contact database, calendar, and task list - every component
of Lotus Domino or Microsoft Exchange
As with Aligo M-1 Mobile Application Server, M-1 Mobile Access
integrates easily and seamlessly with an enterprise's current
infrastructure. Companies using either the Lotus Domino Server or the
Microsoft Exchange Server can "plug in" M-1 Mobile Access for
immediate wireless e-mail availability. The software supports all
types and makes of mobile devices, including Internet-ready mobile
phones, Palm and Pocket PC devices, RIM Blackberry devices, and
laptops. Aligo's strict security standards also ensure the highest
level of protection for sensitive corporate information. Aligo
applications run on any J2EE-compatible software platform, such as BEA
WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, Novell, and Sun ONE servers.
