Comsearch, An Allen Telecom Company, Selected as Official Frequency Coordinator For CTIA WIRELESS 2003
Enhanced Coordination Procedures Call For Full Cooperation And Participation
From Demonstrators
ASHBURN, VA - Comsearch, an Allen Telecom company (NYSE: ALN), announced
today that for the sixth consecutive year, it has been selected by the
Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) as their official
frequency coordinator for the Association's CTIA WIRELESS 2003 show.
This year the show will take place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention
Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, March 17-19, 2003.
Comsearch has developed a spectrum management process that efficiently
addresses the interference and frequency coordination issues for CTIA's
temporary wireless demonstrations. With hundreds of exhibitors at the
CTIA WIRELESS 2003 show, it's critical that the frequencies used for the
wireless demonstrations do not interfere with each other and with other
licensed wireless operations in the area. Comsearch, using its frequency
analysis software IQ·ClearÒ and engineering expertise, offers a full range
of Spectrum Management services prior to and during the show, which includes
coordination with PCS licensees in the area, interference analysis and
frequency coordination with microwave incumbents, frequency coordination
between exhibitors and on-site interference monitoring.
"Comsearch has enhanced its frequency coordination process this year
to include registration of all wireless transmitting devices being demonstrated
at the show," said Chris Hardy, Vice President of Spectrum Management
Solutions at Comsearch. "The proliferation of new 3G technologies and
unlicensed device demonstrations on the show floor increases the complexity
of the interference environment¾and drives the need for a comprehensive
spectrum management process. CTIA's proactive approach to managing spectrum
will help to ensure a quality show for both exhibitors and attendees."
"CTIA WIRELESS 2003, one of the largest and most highly attended wireless
shows in the telecommunication and computing industries, is committed
to providing attendees and exhibitors a positive show experience. Comsearch's
expanded procedures for tracking, registering and monitoring all wireless
demonstrations on the show floor is critical to preventing unnecessary
RF interference between exhibitors or to carriers in the New Orleans market,"
said Robert Mesirow, Vice President of Conventions for CTIA. "Comsearch's
proficiency in providing comprehensive frequency coordination services
is a vital part of the overall success of CTIA WIRELESS 2003."
