End2End’s managed service solutions to power Vodafone live! in Egypt
End2End has been selected by Vodafone Egypt to provide a turnkey managed service solution for all content download services for Vodafone live! in Egypt.
Vodafone Egypt initially launched mobile services in 1998 and has secured a customer base of over 2 million subscribers. Vodafone is now the leading brand for mobile services in the Egyptian market.
End2End’s managed service solutions will power Vodafone live! offerings of polyphonic ringtones, colour content, and Java downloads. The content download services, which along with multimedia messaging, and mobile internet form the core offering of Vodafone live!, will be launched in Egypt starting in April 2003.
End2End will be responsible for managing the content download platforms, with both Vodafone Content Services and local content providers supplying the content. End-users will be able to access the services both on the Internet as well as through their Vodafone live! handsets, which include the Nokia 7650 and Sharp GX-10. End2End’s managed service solutions will also power SMS content for non-Vodafone live! handsets.
“We are pleased with the level of commitment and partnership that End2End has demonstrated within the Vodafone Group and especially in preparation for our Vodafone live! launch in Egypt,” said Ian Gray, Chief Executive of Vodafone Egypt. “End2End has illustrated a clear understanding of managing mobile data solutions and has worked very closely with our team to ensure a successful roll-out of new services based on our aggressive timeframes.”
“We are delighted to strengthen our relationship with the Vodafone Group through this partnership with Vodafone Egypt,” says Atte Miettinen, Chief Marketing Officer of End2End, “By partnering with End2End, Vodafone Egypt obtains access to unique data infrastructure and expertise, which provide the components required for delivering a richer experience to end-users.”
