XORA LAUNCHES GPS TIMETRACK HOSTED SERVICE
PROVIDES TIME, LOCATION AND WORKORDER TRACKING FROM MOBILE PHONES
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - February 25, 2003 - Xora, Inc., a leading provider of mobility solutions for the enterprise, today launched Xora GPS TimeTrack, an inexpensive service enabling companies to track the time and location of their mobile employees through any GPS-enabled cell phone. Using Xora GPS TimeTrack, companies can capture the information they need to track their mobile employees and assets. Customer who have signed up for Xora GPS TimeTrack are now able to monitor and enforce overtime policies, automate data transfer to payroll systems, enforce driver speed and stop time regulations and optimize routing of deliveries.
"Xora GPS TimeTrack gives an up-to-the-minute picture of productivity information on all of our ongoing jobs," commented Shannon Kennemore, Controller of Magnum Drywall, a construction services company based in Fremont, California, and Xora GPS TimeTrack customer. "That's important to us because it allows us to identify projects where we might miss targets, and to react before there's a problem. Additionally, with the built-in ability to track time and location, we are now able to track and manage overtime. We expect the application to pay for itself within two months."
Customer interest has been extremely positive, with several hundred users signing up for Xora GPS TimeTrack in the first week of the product launch. Customers sign up for Xora GPS TimeTrack over the Web through a self-service interface. Following a one-time set-up fee of $99 for the first five users, pricing for the hosted service is currently priced at $9.99 per user, per month. There is no specialized software to install or manage on the desktop, and billing is handled automatically. Customers who don't need the location capability can use both WAP and non-GPS Java phones and deploy time/workorder applications to their mobile workforce. Once deployed, users can generate reports over the Internet to view location maps, workorder reports, speed and hours worked.
"Vendors have been providing this sort of functionality with expensive onboard systems for years," said Ananth Rani, VP of products and services at Xora. "The innovation here is that Xora has now delivered smart, dynamically configured J2ME applications through a GPS-enabled mobile phone. This allows Xora to deliver an enterprise class solution for a fraction of the cost."
The introduction of Xora GPS TimeTrack service further rounds out Xora's product line with solutions for large, medium and small businesses and cements the company's position as a leading provider of mobile productivity solutions for the enterprise.
