Fashion In Motion -A Catwalk of Wireless Wearables At WIRELESS 2003
Picture A Runway of 'Ready to Wear' Wireless
WASHINGTON, D.C. - High-tech meets high-fashion at Fashion In Motion, the ultimate catwalk for wearable wireless technology. Catch an exhilarating runway show, featuring professional models sporting wireless wearables on the market today or still in development, and the latest high-fashion accessories from today's leading designers. Shows will run daily at CTIA WIRELESS 2003, the world's largest wireless trade show, held March 17-19, 2003 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Intel is the premier sponsor of Fashion in Motion.
"Today, both consumers and business professionals use wireless technology to access data anywhere, anytime, anyplace," said Robert Mesirow, Vice President of Conventions for the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA). "To show how far we've come in 20 short years, wireless is now a fashion statement. Fashion in Motion is an avant-garde, high-energy event that vividly illustrates trends in wireless fashion. It brings a whole new meaning to the concept that wireless is now in vogue."
This year's catwalk includes:
* Virtual Personal Viewer... When information calls, clip this unit onto your glasses and a 17-inch virtual monitor appears, floating six feet in front of you. When you're done, just unclip and store. No fuss, no muss.
* Super Screening...Intel introduces the perfect viewer for vertical enterprise usage, with a slide out keyboard and a full VGA touch screen display for full-screen browsing. Users, such as healthcare professionals, can use wireless connectivity coupled with the high quality display for easy and accurate viewing of critical graphical data and images.
* Pocket Super Viewer...Take command of your Pocket PC with the Pocket Eyeview Viewer. The SV-3 Viewer mounts on your eyeglasses so you can view pictures, maps, GPS or even surf the Web on a full size screen - all hands free!
* Wildseed... Innovative phone for the youth market combines many tailored features, including FM radio, texting key-pad, coded lights and interchangeable skins for adding new features.
* Night Vision Plus... Never be left in the dark again with this ultimate personal night vision device. Night vision goggles are now wearable computers for defense and security workers. They can also be hooked up to desktops for daytime viewing.
* ThinkShoe... The world's first running shoe that continuously adapts cushioning and support in response to users' motions. This revolutionary footwear technology minimizes foot stress and increases athletic performance through an embedded computer and sensor system.
* Chic Smart Phones...A smart phone with integrated camera. Mitac brings all the capability and performance of PDAs to a phone. Great visual capability for games, pictures or video with enough performance to multi-task.
* Accessibility Accessories... Forget about viewing graphics on a tiny PDA screen. This powerful, yet featherweight computer with an advanced head-mounted display delivers instant access to everything you need: email, Internet, music, videos, games and more.
* Wearable Scanning System...Place a scanner and computer between your index finger and forearm - and revolutionize your productivity in warehouses, distribution centers, ski slopes and sports arenas. This radio-enabled wearable computer with mini barcode reader enables you to transmit and receive data wirelessly.
* Hiptop Communicator... Surf the Web, send and receive email, make wireless calls, chat on AOL Instant Messenger, play games, take and email photos with this all-in-one wireless device - at the right price.
* Hip Headsets... Make and take calls without touching your phone. This Bluetooth wireless headset features voice-activated calling and an answer/end button on the headset.
* And much more!
