Spotwave launches SpotCell 200 and SpotCell 210 providing extended in-building wireless coverage
OTTAWA, Canada - March 10, 2003 - Spotwave Wireless Inc., a wireless
technology company solving the in-building reception problems common to
users of wireless voice and data services, today announced the addition
of
two new adaptive repeater products. The SpotCell 200, operating in the
800
MHz frequency band and the SpotCell 210, operating in the 1900 MHz PCS
frequency band, now double the in-building wireless coverage area provided
by SpotCell products.
Two coverage units can now be connected to a single donor unit through
an
intelligent hub. SpotCell 200 and SpotCell 210 double the provided coverage
area from 25,000 square feet to 50,000 square feet in office areas, and
up
to 100,000 square feet in large open areas. The adaptive algorithms in
each
coverage unit operate independently in adjusting for gain and isolation
to
maximize the coverage area while automatically avoiding interference and
oscillation.

SigmaPoint Technologies Inc., a high technology contract electronics

electronic products, installed a SpotCell unit in their manufacturing
facility to improve the in-building wireless coverage.

Key features of the SpotCell 200 and SpotCell 210
* SpotCell 200 and 210 provide in-building wireless coverage in office
areas
up to 50,000 square feet and open areas up to 100,000 square feet.
* SpotCell 200 is compatible with SpotCell 100 and can easily extend an
existing SpotCell coverage area. The SpotCell 210 is compatible with
SpotCell 111 (GSM/TDMA) and SpotCell 112 (CDMA).
* SpotCell 200 and 210 can be deployed in any location requiring 50,000+
square feet of coverage including big box retail outlets, manufacturing
facilities, aircraft hangars, multi-tenant buildings, and in adjoining
coverage areas such as "L" shaped buildings.
* Like all SpotCell products, the SpotCell 200 and 210 are complete
"out-of-the-box" coverage solutions.
* SpotCell 200 and 210 feature fully adaptive operations, self-adjusting
for
gain, isolation, and signal levels to maximize the coverage area and remain
unconditionally stable.
* SpotCell 200 and 210 can be installed and operated without engineering
support, test equipment, special tools or knowledge of the network.
