Pocket PC Display Option for the WSI InFlight(TM) Cockpit Weather System Now Available

BILLERICA, Mass., March 20 -- WSI Corporation, the leader in aviation weather services, today announced the immediate availability of a Pocket PC display option for the WSI InFlight(TM) cockpit weather system. Now even the tightest paneled aircraft can enjoy the benefits of near real-time aviation weather with this hand-held display solution.

"Since we announced the WSI InFlight service last year, WSI has received numerous requests for a PDA display option," said Arlo Gambell, Director of Aviation Services for WSI. WSI currently recommends the Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC for use with the WSI InFlight system. A version of the client software can be downloaded free of charge from the WSI website.

"WSI InFlight offered on an affordable Pocket PC, puts critical aviation weather data within the reach of pilots flying a smaller class of aircraft," continued Gambell. "With this system, we can have a dramatic impact on the operational safety of light general aviation aircraft."

The WSI InFlight system is based on a continuous broadcast from a geo- synchronous satellite network that delivers complete, uninterrupted continental United States signal reception at any altitude. This 'ever-on' system provides a distinct advantage over current ground-based weather data- link systems that often have inconsistent signal coverage in large portions of the United States and at various altitudes. The WSI InFlight broadcast provides current observed and forecast conditions, as well as WSI NOWrad(R), a high quality mosaic of the national NEXRAD ground based Doppler radar system.

Pricing & Availability

The WSI InFlight AV-100 system is currently available for purchase and installation from WSI authorized avionics dealers for $3,495 MSRP, plus installation. WSI data service subscriptions start at $49.95 per month. The current list of WSI InFlight Authorized Dealers is available online at the following address http://www.wsi.com/solutions/aviation/inflight/locator.asp.

Further product information and the WSI InFlight client software can be accessed free of charge at http://www.wsi.com/fly/pocketpc/.
